Step back in time in the wonderful unchanged historical village of 'Stakevci'. Here you will find our home 'Marinata'.
'Marinata' was built around 130 years ago but has now been tastefully restored to modern standards, but still retains its old Bulgarian feel. Our traditional barn 'Tranquility'. has been faithfully renovated using the age old traditional methods and materials of mud brick and render, and now provides our tasteful guest accommodation, which comprises of a double bedroom and two twin bedrooms which overlook the river and a twin bedroom with a garden view. A shared wet-room and toilets are part of the guest accommodation with additional facilities available in the main house. Tranquility's guest rooms have been designed to give you a comfortable yet true feel of Bulgarian village life. Upon waking after a peaceful nights sleep you will be greeted by the sound of birdsong and the 'Stakevci river' as it winds its way past your bedroom window on its long journey downstream, creating numerous natural pools within a short walk of our mature landscaped garden. Here, if you wish you can cool off, relax or play on those long hot Bulgarian summer days, No need for swimming pools full of chemicals here. Nature takes care of all our needs.. |
TRANQUILITY BARNTranquility barn would have originally been a fairly open structure constructed of stone, mud brick and timber and used to house not only livestock but to also overwinter the fruit and vegetables that the house's occupants would have grown over the summer months to sustain them throughout the winter.
It has now been tastefully restored to provide our guest accommodation. |
